Lichtental Alley

Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Description:

Lichtental Alley is the most beautiful and green street in Baden-Baden. Walking along the alley, you will be fascinated by the mighty centuries-old trees decorated with bridges across the Oos River, a huge rose garden and many other attractions of the Lichtental Alley.

In 1655, by order of the chamberlain Moritz von Lassolei, it was decided to turn the street into an alley. On both sides of the alley were planted a huge number of species of oaks, American pines and two species of weeping beech and other trees. After the casino opened, the alley quickly turned into a park.

Today, the alley starts from Goethe Square, where the theater is located, and goes along the left bank of the Oos River to the Lichtental Monastery. Walking along the alley, you should look at the local Rosary, which is located near the alley. In summer, about thirty thousand rose bushes bloom here.
