Guyerswörth Bridge

Geyersworthsteg, Bamberg, Germany

Description:

The Guyerswert Bridge is one of the many Bamberg Bridges in Germany. It was built across the River Regnitz and leads to the eponymous castle, which is located in the island part of the city. Guyersvert is a pedestrian bridge, because its width is not able to allow the passage of cars. This stone bridge offers a beautiful panorama of the Upper Bamberg Bridge, decorated with various sculptures and manicured old houses.

Guyersvert Bridge is considered a kind of decoration of the castle, because on its sides were exhibited wonderful floral scenery with live plants. The majestic castle, which looks at Geyersvert from the other side, formerly belonged to the Gayer family, and then passed into the possession of the Archbishop of Bamberg.
