Pegnitz River

Spitalgasse 11, Nurnberg, Germany

Description:

The Pegnitz River flows through Bavaria in Germany. The length of the river is 115 kilometers. Its source is located in the city of Pegnitz, namely on Mount Schlossberg. Flowing through the whole city, it reaches the Regnitz River, where it becomes its right tributary.

The river is known for its colorfulness, passing through Bamberg, it turns it into a kind of Venice, washing the facades of houses. Also, the Pegnitz River fascinates with its bridges, the number of which is difficult to count. It should be noted that here is the oldest bridge in the city.

On the bank of the river there is the Tower of the Executioner, as well as a bridge called the "Road to the Executioner". Walking along the various ducts of Pegnitsky, you can see not only medieval buildings, but also quiet romantic backwaters, and medieval fortifications.
