City of Towers and Bastions - Bautzen
Description:
If you are planning to visit Saxony for a few days, then I recommend you to get acquainted with one of the most attractive medieval cities in Germany - Bautzen, which has more than 1000 years of history. At the entrance to the city you will see towers and powerful stone walls of the former fortress wall, picturesquely towering over the Spree River. The historic part of the city has been carefully restored in recent decades and, according to the residents of Bautzen, it has never looked as magnificent as it does today. The cultural life of the city was influenced by the centuries-old cohabitation of Germans and Luzhitsky Sorbs. Thousands of guests come for Easter horse processions, held according to the tradition of the Sorbs. St. Peter's Cathedral, the Town Hall, the ruins of the church and the cemetery of St. Nicholas, as well as the "falling tower - Reichenturm" - you will get acquainted with all this during our tour of Bautzen.
If you want to relax in one of the cozy restaurants or cafes, then you will not have problems with the choice! After a delicious coffee and cake, we return to Dresden in high spirits.
