Monument to Beethoven
Germany, Bonn, Theaterstraß e, 24
Description:
The monument to Beethoven, located in the German city of Bonn opposite the concert hall Beethoven Halle, is simply called “Beethoven’s Head”.
The monument was created by Klaus Kammerichs, an abstract sculptor from Düsseldorf, and presented to the city in 1986 during the Beethoven Festival.
The monument consists of concrete cylinders of different lengths and diameters, which appear in different angles and thereby symbolize the entire contradiction of the composer’s work and the complexity of his life.
