Beethoven House Museum

Bonngasse 17, 53111 Bonn, Germany

About the company:

The Beethoven family lived for several years in the left garden wing of the current Beethoven House museum complex. Ludwig Van Beethoven was born here in December 1770.

Since 1889, the Beethoven House Society has maintained a museum in the house in which the composer was born, which today houses the world’s richest collection from the life of the great composer. The halls feature a selection of more than 150 original documents from the Bonn and Viennese stages of Beethoven’s life. And in the nearby historic house on the right side, which once celebrated the composer’s baptism, since 2004, is the “Virtual Beethoven House”. Modern presentational forms invite you to a multimedia journey through the life and work of Beethoven. His music as an object of audiovisual art is subjected to a completely new interpretation and is presented to listeners for the first time in virtual space.
