Fountain of Neptune in Bremen
Description:
The Fountain of Neptune in Bremen exists on Domshof Street relatively recently. It was created in 1991 by sculptor Waldemar Otto. Not far from the sight is the city hall and the cathedral, so you can not pass by such beauty.
It is a small pool of elliptical shape. Its size is 4 by 6 meters. The structure itself in height is 3.5 meters. The materials used to make this architectural creation are green granite and bronze. The pool is on an elevation in the form of a table on three steps. On the sides there are granite blocks that act as benches.
Now let’s look at the characters. They all belong to the mythology of ancient Rome and ancient Greece. In the center of the pool on a chariot drawn by two horses is the god Neptune. He's holding a trident. It seems that he just rose from the bottom of the sea. The water is running off his chariot. On the side is the son of Neptune (in Greek myths - Poseidon), who blows in fanfare. On the other side at the edge of the water sits the elderly Nerey. There are fish at the bottom of the pool and nymphs at the edge.
