Description:
The old bridge in Bremerhaven is an iron giant hanging over the Weser River, and mesmerizing with the massive view and complexity of the patterns of interlaced beams.
The original structure, which was built in the middle of the XIX century, did not allow to cope with the growing flow of passenger and car traffic. It was decided to carry out modernization, and in 1905, thanks to the project of the architect Schubert, the current ornate design appeared.
In the decor of the bridge there is not only metal, in the form of beams, but also bas-reliefs, which depict the sights of Bremerhaven. You can view the patterns close to and admire the city from the bridge thanks to the pedestrian paths located outside the support composition.
