Theatre at Goethe Square
Goetheplatz 1, 28203 Bremen, Germany
Description:
Goethe Square Theatre is an important cultural centre of Bremen. It can truly be called a musical theater because operas, musicals and operettas are the basis of its repertoire.
The opening of the theater took place on August 15, 1913. On that day on his stage was presented a play based on the work of Oscar Wald “Woman not worth attention”. During World War II, the building was badly damaged, after which it reopened on August 27, 1950. Since then, reconstructions have been carried out regularly in the theater - it keeps pace with the times and always meets the highest requirements of the audience. In 2007, the theater received the award as “Opera Theater of the Year”.
The theater hall is designed for 794 seats, but if necessary, the number of seats increases to 868, thanks to the special structure of the stage and the orchestra pit.
The repertoire of the theater will not leave anyone indifferent, regardless of tastes and preferences. A good location will allow you to enjoy a walk in the center of Bremen before the performance or after.
