Paula Moderzon-Becker Museum in Bremen
Bottcherstra ß e 6-10, 28195, Bremen, Germany
About the company:
The Paula Moderzon-Becker Museum in Bremen is the first museum in the world dedicated to female artists. Moderzon-Becker was one of the first early Expressionists to emerge in Germany, and her tenacity and talent paved the way for women to enter the world of art and expressionism. The museum includes most of her work.
In the Bremen Museum of Paula Moderzon-Becker, which is located on the street Betherstrasse, there is a permanent exhibition of the best works of Paula. The museum and its building in the style of expressionism owe their existence to Ludwig Roselius, who, on behalf of Bernhard Hoetger, prepared a draft building for the collection of works by Paula Moderson-Becker.
The museum opened its doors to visitors on June 2, 1927. The museum also houses a collection of sculptures, paintings and drawings by Bernhard Hoetger. Museum space is also used for temporary exhibitions.
