Ducal Palace of Celle
Description:
The Ducal Palace of Celle, located in the eponymous town of Germany, is the main attraction of this small town.
The palace acquired its modern appearance in 1670, during the reign of Duke George Wilhelm, who made 3 Baroque facades. He also created a theatre in the castle.
The White Palace was built in 1292. Until 1371, the palace was the residence of the Hergots of Saxe-Wittenberg, and from 1371 to 1705 it was used as the residence of the Dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg. In 1570 Duke William built a castle chapel here.
Near the palace you can take a guided mini-train, which runs to all the main attractions of Celle (New Town Hall, Alstadt, French Garden, etc.).
