Dortmund Airport
Description:
Dortmund Airport is one of the largest regional airports in Germany, located ten kilometers east of Dortmund city center. During the year, the airport serves about one and a half million passengers and carries more than 7 thousand tons of cargo.
Dortmund is a very old airport that has existed since the First World War. The airport has a rich history - from here the largest German zeppelins departed, and in 1933 Adolf Hitler hosted a military parade in Dortmund. During World War II, the airport was completely destroyed by bombardment and stood in ruins for a long time. In the end, the German authorities decided not to rebuild the airport, but instead built a completely new, modern airport.
Today, Dortmund Airport is an important transport hub in Germany, specializing in serving tourists and regional cargo transportation. The airport meets all modern quality standards and has been working with true German clarity for many years.
