Description:
One of the many natural attractions of the German city of Düsseldorf is the beautiful Botanical Garden, owned by the University of Düsseldorf. The garden was created in 1974 and now its collection includes about 6,000 plant species.
The Düsseldorf Botanical Garden is divided into several sections, each with a specific focus. Particularly noteworthy is the huge greenhouse of the garden, made in the form of a dome, whose height is 13 meters. Here are collected rare plant species from Australia, New Zealand and Asia, over which various breeding works are carried out.
One of the most remarkable corners of the Botanical Garden is the Alpine Hill, which presents unique plant species from Central Europe, the Caucasus, Northeast Asia, Japan, China, North and South America. Also here is a sector of conifers and samples growing on volcanic rocks. The highlight of the garden is a huge greenhouse, whose area is 300 square meters. Here rare plants of the Mediterranean are collected for wintering.
