Lake Kerspetalsperre

Description:
Kerspetalsperre Lake is located in Wipperfürt, Germany. It supplies drinking water to the cities of Wuppertal, Remscheid and Wipperfürt. In 1908-1912, a gravitational dam was built on the lake from processed mudstone.
Access to the shore is closed to the public. In 1990, the dam was strengthened. In addition, all facilities monitoring equipment and mechanisms have been updated. A small hydroelectric power plant was also installed on the lake.
The shores of Kerspetalsperre Lake impress with the diversity of flora. Mostly coniferous species grow here.
