Heltorfer Schlosallee 100, Dusseldorf, Germany

Description:

Heltorf Castle is a castle located in the district of Angermund, Düsseldorf, Germany. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1189. The castle was built to manage the farm, which was at that time on the right bank of the Rhine.

The owner of the castle was Arnold von Teferen, who in 1360 sold it to Heltorf Thomas von Loausen. From 1662 to the present day, the castle is owned by the von Spee family. In 1796, a park with an area of 54 hectares was built near the castle. It is currently open to tourists.

The castle was renewed at the beginning of the XIX century. Of particular value are the frescoes located in the garden pavilion. In a specially created tower for the library, next to the castle, a collection of old books is kept. The castle is closed to visitors.
