Heisingen Manor

Haus Heisingen 1, Essen, Germany

Description:

Heisingen Manor is one of the oldest medieval estates, preserved to this day, located in the ancient city of Essen. The time of foundation of the estate is considered the XII century, when the territory belonged to the Verdun Abbey.

In 1458, the estate was acquired by Baron Ruprecht I Stal von Holstein. At this time, the estate is already called Heisingen. Until 1696, the territory was ruled by the von Holstein family. Then the estate is repeatedly resold, in 1890 it falls into the hands of a sales agent Johann Sonnenschaia, whose heirs still own the estate.

Today, the estate is a small plot of 45 by 65 meters, in the eastern part of which there is a master house of trapezoidal shape, and opposite it - outbuildings. The Lord's house is covered with a tiled roof, has two floors and a weather vane. The entrance is decorated with the family coat of arms of the owners of the estate.
