Fountain of Justice in Frankfurt am Main
Romerberg 23, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Description:
The Fountain of Justice is located in Frankfurt am Main, on Remerberg Square. In the center of the fountain there is a sculpture of the goddess of Justice, however, it is made unconventionally, namely without a blindfold. At the corners of the fountain there are four statues of nymphs, from whose chest water is poured, symbolizing fertility.
The fountain, erected in 1611, is now a sculptural complex, in the construction of which red sandstone was used. In the center is still a statue of the goddess of Justice, restored in 1887 thanks to the funding of one wine merchant. The restoration of the sculpture was carried out in 2007. It has become a true symbol of trials.
