Europaturm skyscraper

Ginnheimer Stadtweg 90, 60431 Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Description:

The Europaturm, or Tower of Europe, is the tallest skyscraper and television tower in all of Western Europe. Its height is 337 meters.

This building is a project of Erwin Heinle, who completed its construction in 1979. Initially, the skyscraper was 295 meters high, and after replacing the upper part of the skyscraper in 2004, the building "grew" by another 42 meters.

Previously, a restaurant with a disco venue was located on top of the tower, but since 1999 the tower has been closed to the public.

The tower is now owned and operated by T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. At night, it includes purple illumination with corporate colors of the company.

The residents of Frankfurt call the tower Fernsehturm, which means "Television Tower", which was the first broadcast tower in the city.
