Remerberg Square
Description:
Remerberg Square is the historical center of Frankfurt am Main. In the Middle Ages, the square was the site of the coronation of German Kaisers, as well as the famous Frankfurt Fair. Destroyed during the bombing of the ancient buildings of Remerberg were restored in 1986, and today you can see what the city looked like several centuries ago.
A valuable attraction of the square is the Roemer Town Hall, made in the Gothic style. On the facade of this magnificent building there are sculptures of emperors: Charles IV, Frederick Barbarossa, Ludwig II, Maximilian II. The center of the square is decorated with another symbol of Frankfurt am Main – a fountain with a statue of the Goddess of Justice.
