Museum of Money at the Bundesbank of Germany (Frankfurt am Main)
14 Wilhelm-Epstein-St., Frankfurt, Germany
About the company:
In the center of the financial capital of Germany, the city of Frankfurt am Main, in the modern building of the German Federal Bank is the German Museum of Money. It was opened relatively recently – in 1999. However, attempts to create such a museum were made since the middle of the XIX century, when the Reichsbank of the united Germany began collecting a collection of banknotes and coins.
Today, the museum’s six exposition halls contain an impressive collection of coins, including over 90,000 coins and about 250,000 banknotes from almost all times since the Roman Empire. Here you can also see the devices for the manufacture of banknotes of the past and get acquainted with the modern monetary policy of Germany.
