The Alster Fountain is located on the picturesque shore of the lake of the same name in Hamburg. The building is 60 meters high, it decorates the city in the warm season, in winter the fountain is closed. Since 1987, the Alster Fountain has pleased guests and residents of the city, in the evening it is always illuminated, for which about 60,000 euros are allocated annually.
It is noteworthy that for 1 hour of operation of the fountain requires 170,000 liters of water. The fountain is funded by donations and local authorities, because it is one of the main attractions of the city. Near the fountain there are many cafes and restaurants that turn this place into a comfortable recreation area.
