Park Sternshanze

Star Hill, Hamburg, Germany

Description:

Sternschanze Park is a semi-state park with an area of 12 acres. It is located in the same area of the city of Hamburg, Germany. Until 1866, part of the military fortification of the city was located in the park. It also served as a haven for marijuana dealers and potential drug buyers between 1996 and 1997.

Today, Sternschanze Park is an important recreation area for locals, as it houses an open-air bowling area, the Norwegian cafe Stern Chance and a 60-meter-high ski jump tower. The water tower of the Poseldorf Fire Station is located in the park. The western part of Sternschanze borders Elizabeth's nursing home, founded in 1795. It is also famous for its artificial football field.
