Hamburg Planetarium

Hindenburgstra ß e 1, 22303 Hamburg, Germany

Description:

The planetarium, located in the heart of the Hamburg City Park, was discovered in 1930 and is now considered one of the oldest planetariums in the world. It is located in the building of the former water tower Winterhuder, built in the art deco style. In the center of the building are columns, which are illuminated in the evening by floodlights. The planetarium itself has two entrances on the sides of the building.

A few years ago, the planetarium underwent a grand renovation, and now in the hall, which reaches a height of 21 meters, every evening there are magnificent performances using laser and sound effects. Also, the planetarium invites everyone to numerous lectures and seminars on the history of the Universe. There are also shows for children, some of which are very similar to cartoons, shown on a huge screen with many video and audio effects.
