Am Hoen Ufer Quay

Am Hohen Ufer 3A, 30159 Hannover, Germany

Description:

The embankment of Am Hoen Ufer near the Leine River, flowing in the German city of Hanover, was in ancient times the place where this one of the largest cities in the country subsequently arose. The name of the embankment in translation from German means “On the high bank”.

Now the area of the city can not be called sublime, since time and bombing of the British leveled the relief, only in the name of the embankment there are memories of those days. The first houses of Hanover, which was once the village of Am Hoen Ufer, appeared on the site of the embankment.

The attraction of the small promenade are the avant-garde sculptures “Nana” by the French sculptor Niki de Saint-Fal, depicting three fat girls who appeared in the city in 1974. Famous even outside Germany flea market is open on the embankment of Am Hoen Ufer from 8.00 to 15.00. You can buy everything from art to a bunch of bananas.
