Hanover-Langenhagen Airport
Description:
Hanover-Langenhagen Airport is one of the largest airports in Germany, located ten kilometers north of Hanover city center. The airport specializes in flights to Eastern Europe and annually carries about five million passengers and six thousand tons of cargo.
Hanover-Langenhagen began to be built immediately after the Second World War on the basis of a former military airfield - the remains of military barracks are still preserved at the northern end of the flight field. In 1952, the grand opening of the airport took place. At that time, Hanover-Langenhagen had one runway and one passenger terminal. Two additional lanes have been built over the years and the number of terminals has increased to four. The airport is constantly being modernized to become even more convenient for passengers.
Hanover-Langenhagen is one of the few German airports open 24 hours a day. Getting here is very simple - the airport is connected to the city by a railway line, the journey on which takes only 17 minutes. You may also prefer a bus transfer.
