Description:

One of the most important cities for tourism in the region and the Harz National Park is Goslar.
The settlement, which arose before the founding of the Holy Roman Empire of the German nation, eventually became one of the capitals of the empire, when the state did not yet have a permanent capital. Here the emperors kept their residence, here they held their Reichstags and judged. The source of wealth of the medieval city was the silver mines. Over time, the emperors left Goslar and forgot about it. The city lost its importance as one of the capitals and the imperial residence and began to deteriorate. "And thank God!" - we exclaim, because thanks to this the city was not rebuilt, but repaired and it was able to sufficiently preserve in all the beauty of the ancient city-fortress. This was one of the reasons why Goslar was included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage in the 21st century. Over time, it became a city of miners, and then became a resort city. Now many tourists with pleasure wander through the quiet medieval streets and alleys of the old city, admire the half-timbered architecture of houses and buildings of the city hall and the imperial palace, as well as enjoy buying original souvenirs from Kharz with images of witches. After all, not far is Mount Broken, on which evil spirits celebrate the Sabbath on Walpurgis night.
