Grassi Museum

Leipzig Museum of Applied Arts, Johannisplatz 05/11/10, 4103 Leipzig

About the company:

The Grassi Museum is a complex that includes a museum of ethnography, a museum of applied arts and a museum of musical instruments.

The museum was named after Franz Dominique Grassi, who after his death bequeathed more than 200,000 marks to the museum. The museum building, built in the first half of the 20th century, was badly damaged during the bombing of the city during the Second World War. Due to the bombing, a large part of the exhibits was destroyed or damaged.

After the war, the museum began to work already in the fifties of the last century, but some of the exhibits and exhibitions were inaccessible to viewers until 2007.
