Day trip to Meissen
Description:
Meissen is a unique city for Germany. Until the XVI century Meissen was the capital of Saxony, and after in the XVI century Saxony was divided, and the capital was moved to Dresden, in Meissen, virtually nothing else was built, i.e. the city remained unchanged from the XVI century.
Meissen is an amazingly picturesque city. On the mountain above Meissen stands the cathedral, the fortress of Albrechtsburg and the Episcopal Tower, from the mountain two very steep streets lead to the historical center, to the town hall, the city churches and the market square. And, of course, Meissen is the oldest porcelain manufactory in Europe, which still works and where you can buy the famous Meissen porcelain.
The tour is conducted from Berlin.
