Munich Residence and Royal Treasury
Description:
The Wittelsbach dynasty, which ruled Bavaria for 738 years, received this name only a little earlier than the crown of Bavaria. Thanks to the construction of the castle in the same area by the creek, the family safely from Sainshine was renamed Wittelsbach.
Centuries later, Munich became the capital of the dynasty. From the 16th to the 20th century, the Residence was gradually transformed into the imposing Wittelsbach Palace in Munich. Its main 69-meter hall Antiquaria is one of the most significant buildings of the European Renaissance, according to the guide.
But I don’t want to talk about it, but about a small, chamber, miraculously preserved, female “cabinetics”. This is a private office, called "Heart", Henrietta Adelaide of Savoy, wife of the Bavarian Elector Ferdinand Maria, granddaughter of French kings, daughter of the Savoy dynasty. She was an amazing woman, a very sensitive woman, in love with her husband, which happened then and still does!
16-year-old girl Henrietta Adelaide was married in Bavaria. She is known to us as the first mistress of the castle of Nymphenburg, which she laid, in which she lived for a long time, in which she died at the age of 40, in 1676.
A look into the 17th century, into Henrietta’s heart? On the ceiling, the artist Caspar Amort created an allegory of the unity of the Bavarian and Savoy courts and the cordial unification of this marriage. On the main wall there are three ladies of the courtyard, symbolizing fate, and on the side of the map. This map is the Territory of Love, taken from the then popular novel Kleli. The heart office, decorated with the image of a scarlet heart and cute angels, became a personal refuge where you can calm the soul and clarify thoughts.
How many centuries have passed, how little change in our female souls!
The residence holds many more secrets, mysteries and discoveries! She offers to walk not in the halls, but in the centuries and customs!
The 3-hour tour also includes the Treasury Museum and the Residence Park.
