Nymphenburg Palace
Schloß Nymphenburg 1, 80638 Munchen, Germany
Description:
Nymphenburg Palace served as the summer residence of Bavarian rulers. This beautiful building is located in one of the most beautiful parks in Munich.
The Baroque building was built by the architect Agnostino Barelli in the XVII century by decree of Elector Ferdinand Maria for his wife. Initially, the middle part of the building was built in the style of Italian villas, and later it was completed with pavilions and galleries. The park area was also expanded and rebuilt in French style. A model for the arrangement of the park was Paris Versailles.
Inside, the castle consists of a large hall, made in the Rococo style, a gallery of beauties with portraits of Stiller, a lacquer room with Chinese panels. The castle also houses the Porcelain Museum and the Carriage Museum.
The palace park forms together with the castle a single architectural and park complex, attracting tourists from different parts of the world.
