Palace of Justice
Description:
The Palace of Justice of Munich was built in 1891-1897 by the great architect Friedrich von Tiersch. The architecture of the magnificently executed building contains elements of Baroque and Renaissance.
The courtyard of the building is decorated with a transparent dome of glass and steel parts, which was a real innovation for the time. The new justice building, built by the same architect to expand the space for the judiciary, perfectly complements the old building.
Near the palace is the Neptune Fountain in the center of the old botanical garden. Now it is a city park, where you can find rare trees, which, like the park, are already 200 years old. The Supreme Court of Bavaria currently sits at the Palace of Justice.
