Munich Olympic Park

Spiridon-Louis-Ring, Munchen, Germany

Description:

The Olympic Park, located in the German city of Munich, was built in 1968, before the 1972 Summer Olympics, held in the city. The park has no official name, it is called Olympic by local residents, who for four decades have chosen this place for recreation and various cultural, religious and social events.

The Olympic Park is divided into four zones. The Olympic Stadium, the arena with the tower and the venues for competitions of various sports make up the so-called Olympic zone. In the Olympic Village there are training facilities and residential buildings for athletes. The former Olympic Press Center now houses a major shopping mall. The park houses the artificially created Olympic Lake and the Olympic Mountain.
