Monument to the First King of Bavaria Maximilian I Joseph
Max-Joseph-Platz, Munchen, 80539, Germany
Description:
The monument to the King of Bavaria Maximilian I Joseph is one of the attractions of the Bavarian capital, which has long become one of the "calling cards" of Munich.
This monument was erected in honor of Max I Joseph, the first king of Bavaria, who in 1818 approved the first German constitution.
It was erected in 1825 in the central square of Max Joseph, and the author of the work is the German sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch.
Also on the perimeter of the rectangular square of Max Joseph are the National Theatre, the Royal Residence, the building of the former post office and the facades of expensive residential buildings on the west side.
