Sculpture "The Walking Man"

Leopoldstrase, Munchen, Germany

Description:

The Walking Man is a 17-meter-high sculpture located in the Schwabing district of Munich, Germany. The modern monument was erected in front of the Munich Insurance Company 18 years ago. Since then, he has acquired several humorous unofficial titles - not a "walking" but a "runaway" man who hasn't paid his taxes. It is noteworthy that the foot of the monument is larger than the average human height. The weight of the "walking man" is also impressive - 16 tons.

Despite the fact that some people believe that the “walking man” is the embodiment of a thin, but law-abiding taxpayer, and others are convinced that this is a client running away from clerks, in any case, the statue is visible from afar and does not leave indifferent even the most skeptical tourist. Thus, the American sculptor Jonathan Borofsky immortalized his name on German soil.
