About the company:

A visit to the Alpine Museum in Munich brings a sea of pleasure to the residents of the big city, tired of the city noise and traffic on the streets. Everything about the Alps: nature, weather, geology, climbing, climbing the peaks – that’s what this museum is about.

The Alpine Museum is 100 years old. It was inaugurated on 17 December 1911 in the presence of members of the royal family and Bavarian ministers. Even then, mountain hiking was so popular that the museum became a kind of club for mountain lovers. Today, among the exhibits of the museum are paintings and graphics from Dürer to the present day with mountain themes, historical documents, photographs, posters, portraits of the most outstanding climbers with detailed stories about the peaks they conquered.

The permanent exhibition gives an overview of the history of mountaineering, tells about the evolution of technical means and special equipment. The museum has a beautiful thematic library, excursions for children and evenings-meetings for experienced tourists. After a tour of the museum, you can visit the cafe "Izar", located immediately, and in the summer take a walk around the shady garden surrounding the museum.
