Toy museum

Marienplatz 15, Munich, Germany

About the company:

The Toy Museum is the most famous landmark of Munich, attracting a huge number of tourists. The museum is located in the tower of the old town hall and has an extensive collection of both old and modern children's toys.

The Toy Museum was founded in 1986 on the initiative of the Czech film director Ivan Steiger. The basis of the museum exposition were toys from Steiger’s personal collection, which the director collected for more than forty years. The museum presents truly unique exhibits, ranging from handicraft toys of the 17th century and ending with modern factory samples. There are steam locomotives and railways, a variety of handmade dolls and wooden carved soldiers, doll houses, soft toys, a huge number of Barbie dolls and teddy bear cubs. The museum will be interesting for both adults and children.

Entrance to the museum is paid, but this fact does not affect the number of visitors - this place has been holding the status of the most popular museum in Munich for more than 25 years, and there is no break from tourists here.
