Nassauerhouse House Tower
Nassauer Haus, Karolinenstrase 2, Nurnberg, Germany
Description:
House-tower Nassauerhaus is not only a beautiful historical building of the XIII century surrounded by modern quarters, but also an architectural monument built in the Romanesque style. Of course, the medieval tower looks colorful in the city ensemble of buildings.
Despite the fact that the tower is called Nassauerhaus, with the family of counts this building is not documented. Unlike Ulrich Orlib, who not only became the owner of the building in 1427, but also modified the upper part of the tower, completing another floor and decorating it with coats of arms on a stone balustrade. The royal coats of arms were a manifestation of the special pride of Orlib, who became the official creditor of the king himself. It is worth noting that the house-tower of Nassauerhaus is the only medieval monument of Nuremberg and one of the main attractions of the city.
