Nuremberg

Palace of Justice

Further Straß e 110, 90429 Nurnberg, Germany

Description:

The Palace of Justice became famous thanks to the famous Nuremberg trial of Nazi criminals, which was held within the walls of the palace after World War II.

The building was built in 1909-1912. It regularly hosted conventions of the Nazi Party. The city even received the unofficial name of the “city of congresses of the Reich Party”.

The building survived the bombing of World War II, with only minor damage. The palace with the help of an underground passage was connected to the prison where the accused were held (capacity - about 1000 people). Among the famous persons who were in this prison were Hermann Goering, Rudolf Hess, Franz von Papen, Arthur Seyss-Inquart, Joachim von Ribbentrop and others.

Since 2000, all 600 rooms of the Palace are open to tourists.
