Nuremberg Castle

Burg 13, 0403 N rnberg, Deutschland

Description:

Nuremberg Castle consists of three buildings: Burggrafenburg, Kaiserburg, and the Fortress of the Imperial City of Nuremberg. Kaiserburg Castle was the main building that housed the imperial residence.

After the construction of the castle on top of a rocky hill at the foot of the city began to grow.

The strongest fortifications are located on the territory of the Kaiserburg Castle - these are the Heidenturm towers, Zinvelturm, the Parade Palace in which they lived and hosted receptions, the Imperial Chapel. The decoration of the castle amazed with minimalism and modesty, it is said that during the arrival in the Palace of the Emperor chairs had to take from the citizens.

Around the main palace in the XV century was laid the Imperial Garden, which exists to this day. It opens a picturesque picture of the city of Nuenberg. The park itself is considered the largest in Germany.

On the eastern side of the mountain there is the Burggraf Castle, which includes the Pentagonal Tower with Count's stables, the Valjuburgis Chapel and the Luginslad Watchtower. Currently, a hotel is located in the stable.
