Passau Central Square
Description:
The central square of the city of Passau is Residenzplatz. The new residence of the bishop (Neue Bischofsresidenz, pictured right) was built between 1712 and 1730 by Prince-Bishop Johann Philip von Lamberg and Dominicus von Lamberg, then rebuilt between 1764 and 1774. From the Residence Square, numerous narrow streets lead to the Danube River.
