Bavarian Forest National Park

Grafenau (Lower Bavaria), Germany

Description:

Together with the Czech National Park, the Bohemian Forest is the largest forest in Central Europe. A significant part of the park is located at an altitude above 1000 meters in the vicinity of mountain peaks.

In the park managed to preserve the rarest animal world, which is endangered, such species as deaf, lynx, persan, forest cat, black stork, beaver, ordinary otter or otter.

The real disaster of the park are noble deer that eat trees, especially in winter, when the green mass is clearly not enough to satisfy hunger. To prevent possible damage to trees, they are placed in specially equipped pens for the winter.

Sometimes in the Bavarian forest you can find moose that come from the Czech Lake Lipno.
