The Boy Fountain Playing the Lute

Mergentheimer Strase 25 70372 Stuttgart, Germany

Description:

The Lautenschlagerbrunnen Fountain (Fountain "The Boy Playing the Lute") is a sculptural composition in the northeastern part of the Kura Park: in the center of the octagonal pedestal there is a ball on which a naked boy sits and plays the lute. The fountain was installed in the park in 1934, and the author of the composition is the German sculptor Jacob Klement.

By the way, not ordinary tap water beats from the fountain, but healing water, which enters the fountain from the nearby famous spa center Big Kurshaal, which, in turn, is located on the healing spring named after King William I.

In 1987, the sculpture was restored and now the fountain delights visitors all year round.
