Fountain on Post Square

Rotebuhlplatz 17, Stuttgart, Germany

Description:

Fountain Postplatzbrunnen - Fountain on Post Square, is an ancient architectural and sculptural monument in the form of a stele. The fountain was created in the 20s of the last century.

In the middle of the cast-iron bowl of the fountain, a granite stele majestically rises, the top of which is crowned by a kind of pine cone. On one side of the pillar is the profile of King William I, and on the opposite side is the relief of the horse, which, by the way, is the coat of arms of the city.

At the bottom of the stele on all sides are four dolphins that look more like mythical sea monsters than ordinary dolphins. The fountain works, as a rule, from May to September.
