Wildbader Strase 18, 70372 Stuttgart, Germany
Description:
The Junobrunnen Fountain (Fountain of Juno) is a magnificent sculptural composition in the neoclassical style. There is a beautiful ensemble in the picturesque city park Kur.
In the middle of the fountain on a low stele stands a naked beauty - the goddess Juno, the wife of Jupiter, and behind her - a peacock. At the bottom of the stele is decorated with figures of four dolphins in the form of blind children, each of whom holds in his hand the allegorical symbol of fishing (sea snails), gardening (bundle), fruit growing (basket with fruits), viticulture (grapes).
The fountain was built at the beginning of the last century by German sculptor Emil Kimlen and symbolizes the unification of Stuttgart and Kanstatt. At the beginning of this century, the sculptural composition underwent restoration. The fountain operates from mid-May to mid-September.
