Stuttgart TV Tower
Jahnstr. 120-124, 70597 Stuttgart, Germany
Description:
The Stuttgart TV Tower is the world’s first television tower built not of lattice metal structures, but of reinforced concrete. Therefore, it became the prototype for many other towers around the world. In just 20 months, the 216-meter television tower was built, and on February 5, 1956 it began its work.
The Struttgart TV Tower, despite controversy over its cultural value, has become a famous landmark. Moreover, it received the status of a historical monument of engineering and architectural art in Germany. At an altitude of 150 meters and 153.5 meters there are two observation platforms, which offer a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings. Unfortunately, due to fire safety issues, the tower has been closed to the public since March 28, 2013.
