State Museum of Natural History

About the company:

The State Museum of Natural History of Stuttgart is a great place to explore nature from the most ancient dinosaurs to modern ecosystems.

The museum’s collections date back to the art and science of the Duke of Württemberg’s collection. The earliest surviving objects date back to the XVI century. To date, the biological and paleontological collections of the museum number about 11 million exhibits, including 4100 thousand fossils, 40,000 minerals, 1 million plants, 4500 thousand insects, 1 million mollusks (crustaceans), 500,000 vertebrates and 9600 other representatives of the flora and fauna of the world. Among the paleontological curiosities are the skeletons of dinosaurs, primitive people, their everyday objects and cultural achievements.

Of particular interest are regional geology, flora and fauna, as well as the implementation and documentation of Germany’s globally oriented research projects, for which the museum presents a wide range of opportunities. With the support of the museum, various studies and excavations are constantly carried out, the results of which replenish the museum's exhibitory.
