Between Trier and Fell are former shale mines. Today there are excursions for tourists.
The upper gallery "Hope" is located on the site of the mine, which appeared in the late 19th century. In a younger mine, in 1908, the Barbara Gallery is now located. The mines are connected.
Visitors can see how the miners worked in such mines.
