About the company:
The Bauhaus is one of the world’s first schools of architecture and design, established in Weimar in 1919. It was headed by Berlin architect Walter Gropius. The main direction of students’ training was the creation of innovative forms in architecture, functional and economical at the same time.
Today, the Bauhaus Museum of the Higher School of Architecture and Design and more than three hundred of its exhibits tell about the origin and work of the school, illustrate the history of creative searches and color experiments. This school of construction and artistic design completely changed the principles and concepts of world architecture, laid the foundations of modern design. The works of Walter Gropius, Hannes Mayer, Laszlo Mohoi-Nadya, Vasily Kandinsky (all of them were teachers of this school) helped to take shape in the style that became decisive in architecture and art of the entire twentieth century. Moreover, this style has not lost its relevance and modern sound: Wilhelm Wagenfeld’s steel kettles still do not go out of fashion, and Bauhaus lamps are presented in all online stores.
In 1995, the Bauhaus museum exposition was temporarily moved to the Weimar Art Museum. Now the construction of a new building on a unique project, which in the future will house a collection of works by students and teachers of this famous educational institution.
