Description:
The main center of tourism in Greece is its capital Athens, named after the goddess of wisdom. Museums, historical monuments of Athens constantly attract millions of tourists. The Acropolis is a visiting card not only of the city, but of the whole of Greece. Travelers make a pilgrimage to its slopes to see all the charm and beauty of the historical complex.
When climbing the Acropolis, on the right you can see the temple of the Wingless Nike, which symbolizes the victories of the Athenians. And here, in front of the entrance - Propylaea, with Doric columns, tourists stop for the first photos.
The main attraction of the Acropolis is the Parthenon - the largest temple on the holy mountain, built to worship Athena, inside which stood a statue of Athena made of gold and ivory. Despite the massive Doric-style columns, it seems very light and graceful.
Opposite it is the most holy temple with Ionic columns - Erechthion, with beauties from the place of Caria - caryatids. Here in ancient times it was necessary first to change the dress of the goddess on the last day of the Panathinian festival, which was held every four years.
On the territory of the ancient Agora there is a well-preserved temple of Hephaestus, and this area is one of the favorites of residents and guests of the capital.
