About the company:

The house-museum of the couple Angelos and Leto Katacuzenos is a symbol of the revival of the historic Athenian house of Greek intellectuals. The former owners of the house belonged to the intellectual elite of their era, as it is also called in Greece “generation of the thirties”. Husband and wife played the role of cultural ambassadors of Greece and were the so-called arbiters of international Greece.

Their life together began in 1930 and lasted for 67 years. Leto and Angelos were real members of Athenian society, but also deeply cultural and creative people. The house was constantly visited by famous writers, artists, scientists who left an indelible mark on the cultural and scientific life of Greece.

Throughout their lives, the Katacuzenos couple have collected a huge collection of unique paintings, engravings, drawings, sculptures, decorative objects belonging to the XVIII-XIX centuries. The house is scattered with rare books, manuscripts and letters received from talented friends. The interior of the rooms consists of French and Greek furniture. The whole furnishing of the house attracts attention, gives an opportunity to touch the great and eternal, and causes positive emotions among visitors to the museum.

The ANGELOS & LETO KATAKOUZENOS Foundation was established in 1998 to preserve and develop a great heritage for future generations.
